I have a Bsc Hons, Lic Ac, MBAcC and am an experienced Acupuncture and Natural Health Practitioner (12 years and counting). My greatest passion is helping others feel better in their bodies and their lives.
I graduated from The London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Since graduating I have pursued post graduate studies in pain management, endocrinology, sleep disorders and other specialised forms of acupuncture and diagnosis. I have done these both in the UK and China.
I have studied with world renowned teachers such as Dr Richard Tan, Dr Robert Doane, Dr Brad Whisnant, Jane Lyttleton, Dr Hamid Montakab, Dr Jeremy Steiner. I also have 20 years of experience in mind-body health and meditative practice.
Originally I was interested in the arts and creativity and became a proficient furniture designer and maker. During this time I became interested in natural health and medicine.
I realised I wanted to help people with their health and well-being. I was drawn to the depth and complexity of Chinese medicine, because of it’s broad spectrum and understanding of people and their maladies, as well as its time tested, natural approach to health and well being. I had experienced first hand the shortcomings of conventional medicine, in terms of pain relief, and anxiety management, and had seen the destructiveness some conventional treatments had on close family members. It was from experiencing these challenges myself, and seeing the suffering of others, that I realised I wanted to help other people to live healthy content lives, and to help others out of pain and illness states.
I shadowed two acupuncturists in London, and was inspired by the results they were getting with their patients. I realised that Chinese Medicine is a powerful mind-body system that truly understands the root of pain disorders. In 2003, aged 25, I attended the open day of the London College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and enrolled the same day on the three year degree program.
Following my degree, I went to Chengdu in China. There I followed the renowned Dr Hu in the Acupuncture ward of Chengdu teaching hospital. On my return I established clinics in West Sussex and London. In 2010, I moved to West Cornwall, and set up Penzance Acupuncture Clinic at Clarence House in Penzance. I also have two amazing kids, love to surf, and also assist my partner in developing and running a natural skin care business.
